Nu nar bade mac och pc kor 86x borde det finnas ett test som helt enkelt jamfor paron och applen lika. Ungefar som ett os, man startar fran en boot disk och sa lirar man xBench OS sa far man ett varde som skulle (teoretiskt) ge en mark som var jamforbar med i stort sett vilken annan person dator som helst, utan att aga en windows version?

Det behövs ett operativsystem för att ens starta en dator, så ja, det körs i ett operativsystem.
jaja visst, men hur ar det uppsatt? Ar det en egen karna som botas? Eller kors spec i windows respektive Os X ?
Har du ans varit o kollat pa sajten? eller forsokte du bara vara snall?
Som jag forstar det sa kompileras Spec i ett os, som du valjer, de olika benchmark-erna ar skrivna for det mesta i C och C++. Om du vill ha en ren jamforlese borde inte spec tekniskt satt koras fran ett eget system/karna/operativsystem som opererar likgiltigt oavset, marke eller vilket operativsystem det var byggt for, vare sig linux Osx Windows, warp.. osv,

De jämförelser som görs idag är redan så oberoende av annat och på gränsen till overkliga att jag inte ser behovet av att specialdesigna ett operativsystem för att bara testa hur snabbt de bearbetar ettor och nollor. Det lär bara bli fel då.
prestanda när man använder sin dator beror ju förutom hårdvaruprestanda också på exvis biblotek och vilken slags kompilerare programmen man använder är byggda med. detta brukar vara ganska lika för det system (datortyp/os) man använder.
ett spec-mätarprogram bör alltså byggas för och mäta i den miljö som man brukar använda, det blir rimligen mer rättvisande.

Observera att det är en gammal Athlon64 med single channelminnen, som dessutom körs i 333MHz pga värdelöst chipset. Macvidiadrivrutinerna ger ingen som helst accelerering för grafiken. Disken är en asgammal, hade kunnat fixa värden för en 250GB Samsung Spinpoint med.

Hur kommer det sig att jag får högre med min standard Mac pro än en med 2 gb och x1900xt kort?
Results 157.37 mot 140.88 som crownswe hade.
Bra fråga! Endera behöver jag felsöka, eller så är Xbench ren skräp. Jag lutar åt det senare. Faktum är att det är bättre att boota upp i windows och köra Prime95, 3dmark och alla andra varianter om det är bara hårdvaran man vill testa.
