Mitt utförliga inferno.

"Since you´re asking, I thought it would make sense to give you (all) an appropriate reply:
No, I am sincerely borrowing from a friend of mine. This is a VS Rack in 99,9% mint condition and it is for sale, since my friend - to be perfectly honest with you - currently is in need of money - and the instrument can be delivered worldwide. The VS rack has a switchable voltage, so, provided the correct power cable, it can work in LA, Stockholm, London or Bangladesh. If anyone feels like giving us a serious bid, it will of course be considered. However, that amount would have to be equal to US $1800 or more (depending on the market demand, of which I am slightly unsure), excluding delivery. If sold, the unit will be packaged very thoroughly. If needed, additional requirements from an eventual buyer can be met for decent prices; ie: we can pick up & add a brand new hard case with proper Prophet-matched "stuffing" and we can have the package insured. In contrast to that guy in Germany, I am a fairly well known synthesizer guy here in Sweden and I have been dealing with these types of instruments for 15 years. The deal could be a business to business thing or a private person to private person thing. A good outlook would be to have the VS Rack sold by January or so. It has been in my friend´s possession since he bought it brand new in 1989. Serious enquiries about the rare instrument can be e-mailed to me. The operating system version is 1.2, by the way, and the LCD - while being perfect on the backlight side of things - has a little low contrast if viewed from certain angles. The digits are "from light to dark grey to black" depending on the angle. Can the display contrast be fine-tuned on a VS Rack? The LEDs are perfect though.
There´s also a Roland MKS-80 for sale, under the same conditions; this being a 110V instrument in good shape but with a 5-6 cm scratch on top of the rack unit; not visible if it´s rack mounted. I have not yet been able to test it since I do not have the power adaptor (which switches down from 220 to 110V) at my disposal, so I do not know the status of it, but so far I assume it is in mint condition in regards to all analogue parts inside, the LCD, the outputs, the MIDI, the lot. No MPG-80 available unfortunately, but a classic synth anyhow. The asking price for this one would be somewhere in the range above US $1400 excluding transportation - provided, of course, that it is in the mint condition I hope it is.
A serious enquiry from a studio or similar would be very welcome, and we can of course bundle these racks for a reasonable sum, mount them in a hard case and have this packaged in a state-of-the-art manner, sent to any corner of this planet.
The serial numbers can be provided if demanded, and pictures as well. That´s not arranged yet but will be in the days surrounding christmas, when I get some time to spare.
As far as I know, no accessories are at our disposal, since my friend has left a studio collaboration where things like operation manuals and cartridges may still be available. That will be checked for, of course, but the prices given would be for the instruments pretty much "as is".
Included, however, would be a written statement of the instruments´ conditions if necessary.
So, that´s the "current state of mind" for these wonderful, rare and luxurious synthesizers."
