Jänkare försökte lura mig på 8000 dollar på eBay

Allt började med att jag hittade denna annons på amerikanska eBay:

Jag mailade och sa att priset var jättebra och att jag eventuellt kunde tänka mig att köpa alla fyra till salu om han kunde fixa paketpris. Fick svar:

Hello, if you bought all four ill give them to you for a deal of $8000 how does that sound? yes they are still under warranty. I only accept check or money order! once i see you made payment and the check clears i will ship them out to you 2nd day fedex shipping to San Diego would be better!

En prissänkning från $12.000 till $8.000 bara för att jag ropar hej? 4st till ett lägre pris än en enda på svenska AppleStore?

Jag svarade:

"Hello, that offer sounds great. How come you can sell these so cheap?

- Could you send me the serial numbers on the units so I can double-check warranty with Apple?

- I'd also like a company name, address and phone number to you so I can contact you.

Tystnad. Och jag snackade med min polare i San Diego och berättade att det inte skulle bli någon affär.

Idag 16:39 får jag detta mail:
"Hello, sorry my computer has been acting up alittle the past day so i havent been able to get online. Well i got an offer from somebody for 2 of the Apple Xserve Raids for $5000 which i think im going to take. So instead of all 4 will you take two for $5000? ill give you the serial numbers and my address after i see if you want it still or not! thanks"

Jag svarade:

"Hi! I wondered why you disappeared. Even though we sort of settled for $8000 earlier I can raise the bid to $10200 for the four units so you only need to deal with one buyer. How about that?

Svaret:

"your right, this is ebay but i take it seriously as my own business so even though i could make more ill take $8000 as we settled for yesterday! I bought them as a bundle so their factory packaged with there being 2 of them in 1 package so how im going to send them is in 2 different boxes because each box will fit 2 of the xserve raids perfectly! sound good?"

Återigen var priset nere på $8000 för fyra stycken trots att säljaren har fått bud på $5000 för två. Minst sagt skumt!

Samma kille fortsätter:

"Im taking a big chance for this, ive delt with fake ebayers in the past from out of the United States and lost alot of money from it!!"

Jag svarar:

"I work as a serious hosting provider with a whole rack full of Xserves here in Sweden. You will find my complete contact information in my eBay profile with phone number and adress.

I must admit that this deal is a bit "out of the ordinary" for us but we are very interested in making everything work out 100% fine for both of us.

When we can confirm the serial numbers for warranty and get a name/adress to you I'll set things in motion so my contact in San Diego get the full amount transferred to his account (takes 1 hour) and he'll settle everything with you.

You will not have to worry about making deals internationally.

En timme senare får jag svaret:

"Hello, i can get you the serial numbers for 2 of them because how their packaged.
the serial numbers are QP34706CM98 and QP4110JUPQF.

im letting each person know that when i got these xserve raids in the lot i was told i have the apple warranty but when i search it on the site it shows up different unless he got them from a reseller. these are factory packaged though never been used!! So if you dont want them after hearing that i need to know cause i still got that other offer for 2 of them!!! thanks"

Kolla ovanstående annonser. Serienumren finns i annonserna!

Med andra ord: säljaren har sökt på eBay och valt ut två serienummer som han skickar till mig...

Mitt sista svar:

Hello again! Neither of these Xserve RAID:s can be 7x500 configuration since they were not launched from Apple later than the serial numbers suggest.

I suggest you doublecheck your units and check drives and serialnumbers on all units.

Därefter gjorde jag en anmälan på eBay om att säljaren uppenbarligen försöker blåsa köpare att betala i förskott med check.

Jag hade aldrig tänkt skicka någon check utan istället skicka min polare från San Diego för att testa enheterna innan affären gick igenom. Nu slapp jag betala en flygbiljett till Cleveland iallafall
