At the time of the WWDC, Steve Panther had promised to us before the end of the year. It will arrive perhaps much more quickly.
A source which one can describe as reliable, informs us that except problem of last minute, the final version of Panther will be presented by Steve at Keynote of APPLE Expo on September 16, 2003. Moreover, next beta estampillée 7Bxx should be available to beta testers from here with fortnight. There was delay following problems with GCC 3.3 (the version of the WWDC was compiled with the 3.1)
For more incrédules, Doom Hammer informs us that X-Code, the new development tool of APPLE, will be officially available the 15, as APPLE indicates it on this page. It is not a proof in oneself, but corroborating information.
One can in any case draw a good news from it. Panther will be probably free for the first purchasers of G5. One sees APPLE badly remaking to us to pay a OS one month after the purchase of a machine.
