Hm.
his error can occur after you've uninstalled Palm™ Desktop and then attempted to reinstall it. The emerging issue has been observed when users upgrade from one version of Mac OS X to a later version. The Archive and Install option in the Mac OS X installer does not copy the needed library files from the archived System and Library folders to the new OS installation. HotSync Manager requires these files to run properly. As a workaround, you must re-install Palm Desktop from the CD included with your handheld.
Here is one way to deal with it:
1. Locate your user folder on your Mac. To learn how to find the user folder, please click the link provided below.
http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE...
2. Create a copy of this folder and move it somewhere safe (for example, on your Mac desktop).
3. Log off your Mac.
4. Login as the root user. If you're unsure how to do this, please consult Apple for support.
5. Insert the CD that came with your palmOne handheld. Be sure to install from your CD first as the web version does not include all the software included on your CD.
6. Look for the Palm Desktop installer file.
7. While pressing Control, click on the installer.
8. Select "Show Package Contents."
9. Select "Contents."
10. Select "Resources."
11. Double-click "Install Utility."
12. If prompted, enter your Mac OS password.
13. Navigate back to the Palm Desktop installer.
14. Double-click on the installer to begin a normal installation process.
