The iMac G5, code-named Q45 C/D, is expected to receive a speed bump to 2GHz, sources say, with other specifications remaining largely unchanged. An 8x DVD±RW SuperDrive can also be expected on the Better and Best models, given Apple's recent adoption of such drives in its latest PowerBooks. Sources also say the new iMac G5 will sport an updated SMU Firmware -- which will also be released to current iMac G5 users as early as this month -- although it's unclear what issues the Firmware update will address.
