If an Audio Instrument is played with MacAV via a MIDI interface connected to a modem or printer port on Mac OS 9.x, notes may hang.
Explanation:
This is caused by differing priorities of the Mac OS. If MacAV is stressed, the modem and printer port have to wait. As these ports do not have buffers, some data (like note-off) might get lost.
Suggestion:
Emagic recommends Mac OS 8.x for the use of MIDI interfaces connected to a modem or printer port.
If this Mac OS can not be used (e.g. because of Logic 5) please use a USB MIDI Interface, or use audio hardware that comes with ASIO, EASI or other supported drivers besides MacAV.
