Hello there,
I have a MacBook Pro in the middle of 2012. A few months ago I installed a brand new SSD Samsung and upgraded to 8 GB RAM. Since then, everything has been peachy. Fast speeds, went smoothly ..
A few days ago I received a message from the App Store to upgrade to Catalina 10.16.4, so I did! (Previously I was running 10.12.6 Sierra - I was happy to upgrade so that I could finally download Logic Pro and other apps that require 10.13+)
When Catalina was installed everything was fine! Until two days later, I began to experience EXTREMELY slow speeds. Everything I clicked on gave me the spinning color wheel until it eventually restarted on the screen with username / password and would sometimes restart completely.
I ended up deleting my disc and reinstalled macOS via Command R / Recovery. Catalina automatically switches it back on, and the same thing happened. Fast speeds and back to normal for 2 days, then boom - slowly & restarts.
What did I do wrong here? Why does Apple say my Mac can support Catalina but then crash? Can I downgrade to something else that doesn't give me these problems? Any good videos on what it takes to do it? At this point I would just like to go back to Sierra 10.12.6 .. Ugh.
Thanks for the help.
issue got solved!!
